Hide Under Your Hat

August 10, 2018 By Shelly

If there’s any month out of the year that makes me want to throw on my handmade hat and hide like a hibernating bear – this month so far is a cake topper. We all have permission to hide under our corduroy hats for one reason or another – it does not matter. Instead of getting all giddy about my sweetheart on Valentine’s Day and spiffing up my shop for a fresh look- I have had more than a few days of unwashed hair and adjustments to our new home schedule – not all roses, but not all thorns either….

August 17, 2017 By Shelly

This, my friends, is my handmade Trucker Hat with focus. Although it looks like I tripped head first into my flower garden this Trucker Hat gets things done. The bright pink shirt is deliberate, it’s a cool day worthy of jeans and not to mention the spectacular shoes put the BOOM in my thunder.

Outfit 7- Dressing for the Job

June 23, 2017 By Shelly

So, I don’t believe I have the greatest set of legs to be wearing shorts and boots at the same time and this particular Saturday morning I did not care.  It was Function and Fashion Festival in Lanesboro, MN. Actually it’s called Art in the Park, an outdoor craft show and it had rained buckets the night before at the park. Read how Bound to be Creative dresses for the job and balances function and fashion.

Outfit #5: Who’s Your Bestie?

March 10, 2017 By Shelly

Seriously, the wind earlier this week had me at…shutter-buster-window-whistlin’-hold-on-to-your-hats! I was actually worried about not getting to my meeting out of town because of the wind. Call me a pansy or an introvert, either way, I voted to get there or be square. Here’s how I layered up after my brain refused to wear a coat.

Outfit #4: Keep on Truckin’

February 22, 2017 By Shelly

I have soft spot for this hat. Glad you asked….

Feelin’ Tough
The Trucker Hat is an “I’m tough” sorta hat-feelin’ when I throw it on.  When I wear this handmade hat, most of the time my hair is fancy free and not constrained by bands or clips. My mood changes a bit to rebeliscious (of course it’s a real word). The Trucker Hat makes me want to kick up some dust on country roads in 4-wheel drive, heck – make that a stick shift and might as well throttle some donut holes in the middle of the road and call it, well…. feelin’ tough.

BUT today, my friends – it’s the perfect opportunity to show you how a handmade hat can look great on a no makeup-bread-baking-go-for-a-walk-in-my-blacktop-neighborhood weekday! Who’s with me? YES!!!!
