A Textural Dream
These new colorful and reversible totes are just the thing to give you Spring Fever without even packing away the winter gear. These handmade market bags are a super colorful collection of eclectic upholstery fabrics that scream…”please don’t leave me at home!” Because I sometimes struggle making things that are non-reversible these tote bags are beautiful on both sides giving you not just one awesome bag, but two!
While I LOVE making your awesome handmade hats this new line of spring bags for 2021 has been a welcome change not only visually but also texturally.

Your brisk morning walk just got an upgrade and you can start to show your true colors!
In between distance learning with the kids, virtual work meetings and baking it may be tough to get outdoors and breath in the fresh air. Getting outside clears the head, refreshes the soul and jumpstarts the day. While I shirk on the everyday walker chart finding any time of the day is good to get out and take in the landscape…even if it’s not that pretty of a view. (heck, anything is pretty outside my house right now because I’m living with seven people).

Have you ever felt a little rough around the edges or a slight bit edgy – okay a lot bit edgy? Raise your hand if this fits for you (by the looks of the virtual hand-raising you’re not alone). Read on to see my new adventures and how Upcycling through Handmade stitches new life with frayed edges and threads. Find out how you can tackle your “‘maybe someday” project, too.
Rough Around the Edges…literally
Allowing for a bit of self reflection on what was, is and what will be has been things as of late. Not only do we need to do a self-check every now and then but also self-reflect. We’re not perfect and life is not perfect. As a result we can maybe finally accept ourselves flaws and all. Moreover letting go of things that we can control vs. the things we can’t is what makes us well rounded and acceptable to ourselves and others. The future is somewhat unknown and all I know is the now and thank goodness God takes care of the rest.

In a world of uncertainty how do we know we are doing exactly what we should be doing or have to do or are we just simply doin’ it? Do we have a path that we can see or feel? Let’s stitch a little trust into the handmade while adding a dash of gratitude and humor.

Whether we pour our heart and souls into something or not, we still may need to sort things out and get to the heart of the matter. In comes the forsythia branch – maybe she can shed some light on the subject and we can flourish in a new perspective. But first…remember that bread recipe I promised?…not sure if you’ll “knead” it as much as I do, but none-the-less it’s delish.

Welcome! So, I totally get it…plain and simple you want to wear hats but don’t know where to begin. Hello, my name is Shelly and I love wearing hats so much that I began to make them years ago because I could never get one to fit right. I’m here to help you be the hat person you want to be.
My head is WAY too big.
– says retired woman that wants to show up her friends at book club
I LOVE them but they look ridiculous on me, ugh.
– says the taxi mom with peanut butter stains from feeding her 3 year old lunch
My friend is always wearing a cute cap, I could never pull it off!
– says the best friend that wants to be as confident as her hat-wearing friend
As your hat wearing expert, I get the pleasure of telling you that YES! you actually can wear hats. With just a few basic tricks not only will you find a flattering, well-fitting hat but you’ll also experience the extraordinary wardrobe up-leveling that comes with incorporating hats into your wardrobe.
Life is busy, especially during this time of your life and as a mom of five myself, I too, struggled with wanting to feel put together after a full day of chasing kids, feeding the 5000, etc.
Let’s start with a simple question today:
I got the answer hidden right here….
1. Handmade hats pulls together an outfit and makes YOU look put together
2. Disguises a bad hair day, because we all know that your hair may (or may not) have gotten washed this morning…or last night
3. Instant confidence after a crappy day at work
4. A shield from the world when you just wanna get your mail and go home
Join me and hundred’s of other women that learned how to beat the confidence battle while accessorizing with a hat!
Bound to be….helping you, too,
XO Shelly
