Early Spring can be a tough time of year to look and feel great while still staying warm. How about using color to accessorize and still stay cozy!
Us women may struggle with what to wear this time of year, but how to wear our outfits while still trying to stay warm and comfortable at the same time is the trickiest! Ugh, I thought it was the actual boring clothes in my closet but really I’m just going to blame it on not wearing enough spring colors that were warm.
Winter is still glaring at us here in Minnesota. My messy closet lacks a colorful wardrobe and I’m actually dreading the thought of switching out my winter wardrobe for the spring/summer ones, it’s only early March so we have some time still. I got a little creative with color and came up with a few things.
Color can be a huge pick-me-up this time of year and expressing yourself with spring colors can be a game changer when you need a mood booster. When the temps are still hovering around 30 degrees, fleece, cotton and wool are great choices to take the chill out and yet be stylish.
Use Color to Accessorize this Spring
Perhaps your wardrobe consists of a lot of neutral colors, like black, grey, browns. Add a little splash of spring color combination by wearing something colorful. A colorful handmade beanie hat not only is bright but it keeps you warm in early spring. Throwing on a colorful neck warmer can also add a warm and colorful accessory to your mood.
Using colors as a way to brighten your mood is a great way to say, “I’m not scared of you chilly March” and yet say, “Don’t worry Spring, I know you’re coming.“
Dressing in colorful layers in early spring can be fun and you CAN actually stay warm in some fun colors. Sport a fun hat, a cardigan with fun colors and comfy jeans and you’re good to go! Think you can’t pull this off? You CAN! If you’re not a loud colorful gal, you can take this same outfit and tone it down with just a hint of color for the blouse, a black cardigan, and black slacks – easy peasy!
Another fun idea is using spring colored scarves. They not only keep you warm but moreover they are cute! They’re an easy pullover the head fashion accessory for us women on the go. Psst…an array of colors were just added to my shop and are perfect accessory to keep you looking springy but feeling warm this spring!
One final idea that I’m leaving you with is dressing in LAYERS. Use colorful layers to express yourself and wear all the things. Just remember there aren’t any “rules”. As long as you are feeling good with how you look – that’s all that matters. Here’s a little bonus graphic below of how I wore all the things one day.
Your wardrobe is unique to you and using color to accessorize could be just what you need to bring spring in like a lamb – warm and cozy.
