So, the spirit moved me to whip up a blog today. Perhaps it was the cicadas ringing in my back yard or the twirling dance I did while listening to Enya (oh yes I did), either way – here I am. It’s hot in Minnesota, not just a mild warm-up. Nope, all out HOT to the point that my arms are sticking to my desk as I type this. We Minnesotans can definitely take the heat and we do prefer to get out of the kitchen….especially in September. Let’s do a quick cool down and think happy thoughts on this lovely First Day of Autumn!
A Chair Affair
My shop and the chair that inspired it all before it was even upholstered (thanks sis!). Since this chair has made it’s way back into my shop life it gets used all the time! From a homework landing to reading a good book to just simply being admired. The floral pops and it just looks so lovely that I had to share.
Where did Summer go?
Way back when school started it was the beginning of a new chapter. A chapter that now has all my kids in three different schools. Stomach butterflies floated and were told to “calm down” on the first day of school while the silent shuffle of morning backpacks now fill the foyer without a hint of words – I know it’s my teenagers. A baseball game was the end to our really busy summer and not to mention it tested my fear of heights to a whole new level – literally (insert popping eyeballs).
Fuzzy wuzzy IS a bear
With excitement my youngest kids and I took on a new challenge. Once we got twisting and turning we just couldn’t stop! Pom Pom balls had us all in excited knots and they were just so fun to create. I found this super easy way to make them online right here. We found 101 ideas of how to use them including a Fall wreath that now hangs on my front door. Not to mention some super cute winter pom hats that are now listed in the shop right here!
From warm-up to cool down, let’s keep the pace
What does Autumn have in store for you? My list includes a blanket snuggle with a good book listening to football tossing in the yard – when things cool off. Also, cranking out some fabulous fall/winter hats for your wearing pleasure!
