So, I don’t believe I have the greatest set of legs to be wearing shorts and boots at the same time and this particular Saturday morning I did not care. It was Function and Fashion Festival in Lanesboro, MN. Actually it’s called Art in the Park, an outdoor craft show and it had rained buckets the night before at the park. Read how Bound to be Creative dresses for the job and balances function and fashion.

The boots
Without breaking the bank I picked up these lovely red boots at a Fleet Farm for less than $30. For those not familiar with this farm store consider it like a Home Depot marrying Scheels – and then throw in some manure and cattle fencing. Fleet Farm knows their shoes and I’m a fan for life – maybe it’s the wannabe hobby farmer in me. The boots were slipped on for function as I knew the grass would be soaked and there was a 40% chance of rain throughout the day. They were so comfortable that one hour into my show I forgot to change into my low profile heels.
All together now!
The rest of my outfit just sort of evolved as I knew I was going to wear the boots in the begining – and truth be told I like to make a good first impression even at 6 am (some may call it fussy, I call it dressing for a job I love). The flowers in my shirt were a close enough red to the boots that I just rolled with it. The salmony-peach shorts were thrown on last minute because the previous cut off jean shorts looked as though I was actually buying cattle fencing at Fleet Farm.
The hat
Can’t leave the house without my hat. This paricular hat makes it’s way on my head almost every time I have a show or at least it’s thrown into my hat bag before I leave. I know I’ve blogged recently about this cloche hat so I’ll spare you a long-winded repeat and you can get the details right here.

Weather nerd
Life can get sticky, like the Minnesota humid sticky, and time spent with you is like an array of fresh sunshine after a cool front moved through. (didn’t you know I was a weather geek?…yep). Thank you for taking a few minutes out of your busy, crazy life to spend it with Bound to be Creative! (insert confetti, streamers and kazoos!). You’re awesome.
Before you go – are you traveling this summer with your hat? A couple of months ago I wrote about how to fold your hat – find it right here!
Next week! Exclusive sneak peek into the new bucket hats!
Gah! So excited to show you these I might not be able to wait a week!
